Education Days are special days in May and June when teachers are encouraged to bring their classes to Lake Compounce for a day of fun or educational field trip.

We recommend that you pre-pay and save time. Advance reservations are required and availability is limited. Please contact group sales by clicking the link below.
A: Ticket windows will open at 9:30 a.m. The gates open at 10:00 a.m. The park will close at 4:00 p.m. on all days except Friday, May 31, 2024. Days not designated as education days will be subject to later opening times. Check the park's operating schedule for opening and closing times.
Q: How do I get my tickets?
A: If we have received both your final count and final payment 2 weeks prior, we will mail tickets. We are only able to mail one package to each group. Additional tickets ordered after initial order is sent, will need to be picked up at the park the day of your visit. If you are unable to submit payment and final counts 2 weeks prior, we will print tickets for you to pick up the day of your trip. Students or chaperones who have season passes do not need to purchase admission tickets for your field trip. They will just need to bring their pass the day of.
Q: What if I have unused tickets?
A: We are unable to offer any refunds for unused tickets. Any unused tickets can be used to visit the park any day through September 2, 2024.
Q: Does Lake Compounce accept cash?
A: Lake Compounce is cashless; cash is not accepted at any outlets throughout the park. There are ready credit machines around the park where cash can be turned into a debit card at no charge.
Q: What if the weather is bad the day of the trip?
A: The park will always open rain or shine unless meteorologists are predicting dangerous weather such as hurricanes or tornados. Many of our rides continue to operate through rain. If there is thunder and lightning detected within a certain radius to the park, attractions will be closed for a period until the weather passes. If it rains on the date of your visit for one hour or longer, return vouchers can be issued for everyone in the group to come back on another date during the season.
Q: Will Crocodile Cove be open during my school’s visit?
A: Crocodile Cove opens Memorial Day Weekend and will be open every education day that follows.
Q: Can students bring their own lunch?
A: Students are permitted to bring bag or box lunches to the park and will be able to eat in available areas on a first come, first serve basis. No hard lined coolers will be permitted inside of the park. Sorry, there is no refrigeration or transportation provided for lunches.
Q: Are students allowed to bring water into the park?
A: Yes, we recommend that everyone bring a water bottle to the park to stay hydrated throughout the day.
Q: What if I pre-purchase my tickets and later find I need additional tickets?
A: Additional tickets may be purchased at group sales on the day of your visit by the group contact.
Q: Can chaperones drive separately from the rest of the group?
A: Yes, chaperones may drive to the park separately. Staff and faculty members that can provide school ID will be able to park for free. Any additional visitors, such as parents and family members will need to pay for parking.
Q: Is it necessary to participate in a Lake Compounce self-guided education program?
A: No. Many classes and schools use their visit to Lake Compounce as a fun day for the students instead of holding a "field day" or an end of the year party. If you do choose to use one of our self-guided programs, please understand questions were designed to be open-ended and we do not provide an answer key.
Q: Will all rides be open on education days?
A: Rides on education days are subject to availability. Our maintenance team works very hard to get as many rides open as possible for these days, but there is a chance not all rides will be open.
Q: Is the park open to the public on education days?
A: Lake Compounce is open to the public on education days, and while it is typically schools in attendance, there are some non-school attendees that will visit the park.
