My Top Four Commitments to Improving Guest Experience

To our beloved Lake Compounce guests,

It’s great to meet you all! I’m Doug Hemphill, the new General Manager of Lake Compounce, I joined the team in May and bring more than 40 years of amusement industry experience to the management crew. The team and I have worked hard to make upgrades and changes across the park, starting with implementing a new management team, committed to bringing the best guest experience to our visitors.

I want to share with you all my vision for the park's future as we continue to focus on making your visit unforgettable:

1.       Let the good times roll! We’re bringing ALL our beloved attractions BACK:

When I first arrived at Lake Compounce, my main goal was to ensure every single ride and attraction was open to our guests. Recently, we reopened two highly anticipated water attractions, Thunder Rapids and Saw Mill Plunge. As we look ahead to 2024, Wildcat will return to the park’s coaster lineup as it celebrates 96 years and maintains its stance as a true wooden coaster thanks to the help of Gravity Group.

2.       Get ready to feast! We’re focused on improving the quality and consistency at our food locations:

With more than 30 years of experience in food and beverage, I am deeply passionate about creating excellent guest experiences and serving iconic amusement park foods. We are dedicated to elevating your dining experiences throughout the park. From faster service at fan favorites like the Potato Patch to revamped food locations and the introduction of new and improved menu items, get ready to indulge your taste buds this fall season.

3.       We're putting an emphasis on team member training:

I will continue to work closely with each of our park leaders to emphasize the training and development of our Lake Compounce staff. Our park is renowned as Connecticut's most thrilling workplace, offering team members of all ages the opportunity to have a fantastic time, gain valuable skills, and form lifelong friendships. Our dedicated team members strive to make your visit a truly memorable one.

4.       Looking ahead and forward to Phantom Fall Fest, Holiday Lights and the 2024 Season:

The frights are back with the return of Phantom Fall Fest. This season we’ve upped the ante, adding more terrifying scare zones, more scare actors, and more special effects across the park. Plus, Holiday Lights will return this November with Connecticut’s Tallest Christmas, family-friendly entertainment, and so much more.
