HOT! HOT! HOT!
As summer sun gets hotter so does the fun at The Lake! Here are a few suggestions to create an even better time for you and your family here at the park. And learn a little about puppy love, too!

bullet IS MY CHILD TOO YOUNG TO HAVE FUN AT THE LAKE?

We hear this question a lot. Maybe it's because we boast about having the World's Best Wooden Roller Coaster, Boulder Dash. And Zoomerang offers cork-screw madness to keep your heart pounding. But rest assured, there is lots of fun to be had by the little ones, too.

Fun for Everyone!Garfield's Circus World is a wonderland for the kiddies, with rides like the Rainbow Riders, Garfield’s Drop Zone, and Drum Circus. Many rides can accommodate a parent, too. Other rides allow children to ride by themselves, with mom and dad close by to watch. (Every ride has height restrictions and limitations posted, so be sure to check.)

The Circus World Stage is home to 6 shows daily, including Swingin’ Safari and Garfield’s Dance Party. And oh yeah, there's even a free soda station close by, to quench the craziest of thirsts.

Once outside of Circus World you will find Zoomers Gas ‘N Go to be a terrific ride for the little ones, (again height restrictions do apply). Don't forget about the cotton candy, snow cones and fried Oreos that even big kids will go nuts for.

And keeping the little ones cool was never as easy as it is in Splash Harbor, Connecticut's largest water park featured right inside of Lake Compounce. Here you'll find Clipper Cove, Anchor Bay and Keepers Cottage packed with fun for everyone, big and small.

So from toddlers to teens, (and parents and grandparents, too) The Lake has fun for all ages.

bullet SHOWING A LITTLE PUPPY LOVE

Pups Without PartnersPups without Partners is a greyhound only adoption program supported by donations from caring individuals. The purpose of the program is to safely guard greyhounds in the racing industry by placing them as pets when their racing career is over.

Pups without Partners has placed over 6000 greyhounds into loving homes since opening in 1995.

45 MPH Coach PotatoRetired greyhounds are usually between 2 and 5 years old. These ex-racers are very intelligent and adaptable dogs who fit easily into their new home environment, following a brief adjustment period. Greyhounds are eager to please and respond positively to any attention given them. Greyhounds are quiet, clean, gentle, good-natured dogs who adapt and get along well with other animals and people. They do not require a great deal of space to run, as many people think, but like any dog they do need exercise. Inside the house, they enjoy curling up in the corner on a soft bed and are generally referred to as the 45 mph couch potato.

Greyhound adoption from this organization requires an adoption fee, a home visit and references.

On Saturday, July 26th, Pups Without Parnters will visit Lake Compounce in our main gate area, from 10:30am - 4:00pm so stop by and learn more. Or, for more information contact 203.933.3607.

STAY HYDRATED

Free soda is one of the best things you'll find at Lake Compounce, and when consumed in moderation it's a perfect way to quench a mild thirst.

However, don't overdo your consumption in the blazing summer heat. Remember we offer water on our drink stations also. Too much caffeine can ultimately cause dehydration, so you may want to alternate between water and soda throughout the day for the best results.
